Paternoster is one of the oldest fishing villages on the West Coast — and one of the most beautiful. The whitewashed cottages are protected by heritage law, so the village still looks the way it did a century ago. The food, however, is now world-class: Wolfgat (recently World's Restaurant of the Year) and several seafood institutions sit within a 5-minute walk of the beach.
A private West Coast day tour combines Paternoster's seafood lunch with West Coast National Park (lagoon, beaches, spring wildflowers), Yzerfontein and the dramatic Atlantic coastline. We run it year-round, but August–September is peak season for wildflowers.
