      Our private vehicle drives you to Aquila Private Game Reserve in the Cape Karoo for the Aquila-operated full-day safari and back to Cape Town the same day. The safari ticket is Aquila's and is shown separately.

    How the safari day is priced

    The itinerary total includes our private same-day return transport to Aquila for 1–6 guests, at the same group rates as the Aquila page. The Aquila safari ticket itself is not in the total: it is Aquila's per-person rate, listed in the Day 4 exclusions with its season. Groups of seven or more receive a custom quote for transport.

    Example for 2 guests: City Tour R3,900 + Cape Point R5,000 + Winelands R5,000 + private same-day Aquila transport R6,500 = R20,400. That is a transparent sum of separate services, not an all-inclusive package price. Aquila's safari admission — R2,895 pp standard or R3,120 pp peak (20 Dec 2026–15 Jan 2027) — is paid separately; confirm current rate with Aquila.

    Staying overnight at Aquila instead? The same-day transfer rate does not apply; overnight transport and the stay are quoted separately.

    Is Aquila a 'real' safari?

    Aquila is a fenced private Big 5 reserve in the Karoo, about two hours from Cape Town. It is a convenient introduction to African wildlife rather than a substitute for a multi-day safari in a larger park, and sightings are never guaranteed.

    Different from our other 4-day plan

    Our 4-day Cape Town & Whale Coast itinerary swaps the safari for Hermanus and a Table Mountain day. Choose this one if wildlife matters more than whales.

    Official park fees — excluded, paid separately

    Day 2 enters the Cape Point section and Boulders Beach in Table Mountain National Park. SANParks charges a daily conservation fee per person at the gate. The rates below are for international (non-South African) visitors and are valid 1 Nov 2026–31 Oct 2027. They are not part of any South African Adventures price or itinerary total; South African, resident and SADC visitors pay lower rates.

    For 2 guests, our four separate services (City Tour, Cape Point, Winelands and private same-day Aquila transport) add up to R20,400 — not an all-inclusive package. The Aquila safari ticket is extra at Aquila's per-person rate, as are park fees, tastings and meals.
    Is pickup included?
    Yes. The three Cape Town day tours and our private same-day Aquila transport include pickup and return in Cape Town City Centre.
    Do we need to change hotels?
    No. Every day starts and ends in Cape Town.
