Cape Town first, or safari first?
Either works. Starting in Cape Town gives you time to recover from the long-haul flight before early game-drive starts. Finishing in Cape Town means ending with the Winelands and coast, and often a more convenient international departure.
Whichever you choose, leave a buffer for Table Mountain and Cape Point, which are best on calm, clear days.
Safari options from our current tours
Aquila Private Game Reserve in the Cape Karoo can be done as a day trip from Cape Town — Safari from R2,895 pp · 2026/27 standard, transport extra. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve on the Garden Route, midway between Mossel Bay and George, suits travellers continuing east and staying overnight.
If your safari is in another region and booked elsewhere, the Cape Town days below fit before or after it; we simply plan around your flight times.
