    Fitness requirements

A relatively gentle contour hike suited to most reasonably active walkers. Expect some uneven, rocky and narrow sections, loose stones and a short ascent at the start, so sturdy shoes and steady footing are needed. Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Heights & scrambling: Mostly flat contour path with a gentle ascent at the start.

Duration shown is the published total including transfers; walking time varies with pace and conditions.

    About the route

The Pipe Track Hike follows an old water pipeline along the contour of the Twelve Apostles, from Kloof Nek above the city to Corridor Ravine above Camps Bay. It's a relatively gentle contour path with continuous views over the Atlantic Seaboard, though some sections are uneven and rocky underfoot.

It's a great choice for families, casual walkers and anyone who wants the mountain experience without a hard climb — provided you're comfortable walking on uneven ground.

We pick you up and start at the Kloof Nek end of the Pipe Track. The trail rolls gently along the contour with the Twelve Apostles rising directly above you and the Atlantic far below.

Your guide sets a relaxed pace with regular photo stops. You can walk as far as Corridor Ravine and turn back, or arrange a one-way transfer from Camps Bay.
