Day-by-day plans for 5, 7 and 10 days in Cape Town — including where to stay, what to skip, and the order that makes the city sing.
Cape Town rewards a plan. The city covers a huge geographic area, weather can shut Table Mountain at short notice, and tour availability varies in season. Here's the order our team uses.
Where to stay
- City Bowl (Gardens, Tamboerskloof): central, walkable, mountain views
- V&A Waterfront: family-friendly, safe, slightly touristy
- Atlantic Seaboard (Sea Point, Camps Bay, Clifton): beaches, sunsets
- Constantia: green, leafy, wine farms (need a car or driver)
